Description:​ ​Blue spruce is one of the most widely planted trees in the urban environment. Their blue foliage is attractive to many people. The blue spruce has many different cultivars on the market from dwarf to weeping varieties. The trees are susceptible to Rhizospaera needlecast. This fungal disease is often associated with drought stressed trees. There are other species of spruce which exhibit resistance to this needle disease.
