Description:
Beijing Gold Peking Lilac is an attractive, small tree lilac that can do well in a variety of urban environments. It has creamy-yellow flowers in early summer and interesting cinnamon or amber peeling bark. It will tolerate both acidic and alkaline soil, drought once fully established, and proximity to road salts. It does not do well in very wet sites. Native to China, it was introduced to the US via the Morton Arboretum and the North America-China Plant Exploration Consortium (NACPEC).
